What is the mission?

Sustain:  Verb

1) strengthen or support either physically or mentally

2) undergo or suffer something unpleasant

Sustain:  Noun

3) a musical effect that prolongs a note’s resonance

Sustain Festivals seeks to raise awareness for sustainability within the festival community. We have a very broad interpretation of sustainability. In addition to the environmental goals of recycle, reuse and repurpose, we seek to create a community that “Sustains” the musicians, artisans, facilities, volunteers, fans and vendors that make the festival experience so amazing. This is accomplished through a tapestry of individual relationships committed to common values like inclusion, compassion and innovation. This long term, relationship driven approach to problem solving, collaboration and entrepreneurship is a different approach to hosting a festival and is foundational to the building of our community and our experiences.

We are not experts yet but we are eager to learn, improve and coordinate the systems of hosting a successful festival. Success to us is a boutique festival that restores its participants, connects us to nature and improves host facilities while organically creating a loving community.
