Logistics: Frequently Asked Questions

  • When can I arrive for the event?

Currently, we plan to open the gates for fans to arrive at 8am on Friday May 17th. For the first time in 2024, On Site RV and Primitive campers can arrive on Thursday after 3:00pm. Music will begin on the main stage at 2:00 pm on Friday and go till 11pm.

  • Which gate should I enter?

Go to see the festival layout at the Elk Ridge Ranch page of our website. All traffic will enter at the first property entrance off of Ridge Road (This is a change from 2023). This entrance sits between the house and the Elk pasture. All traffic will flow one way from this entrance to camping and car parking. This will help ensure pedestrian safety.

  • Where do I have my ticket scanned?

Immediately upon entry into the festival grounds, at the main gate, volunteers will be there to scan you QR codes for tickets and camping and issue your wristbands. Please have your tickets printed or downloaded since we are uncertain about internet connectivity. If your party is not all arriving at the same time, that is ok, your single QR code can be scanned multiple times based on the number of tickets you purchased.

  • How is the cell service?

There is cell coverage in the area but it is not great and we have not tested it with 500 people present. Please have tickets downloaded before arrival so it can be scanned at check in. There is a limited wifi network but this DSL service will be used for festival staff, food and drink vendors and our livestream provider.

  • Can I bring my own alcohol?

If you are 21+ years of age, you are permitted to bring your own alcohol to the festival grounds. Please drink responsibly. We also ask that you avoid glass bottles. Beyond it helping from a safety standpoint, it will make recycling easier if we have all metal cans and cups. Your personal alcohol will not be permitted inside the 3 bar areas of the ranch.

  • What if it rains?

The weather in May in Indiana is always unpredictable. We will do our best to adjust if rain persists but we will not issue refunds. The ranch has great drainage and facilities that should allow for us to still have a great time even if it rains.

  • Are their seats by the stage?

There are no permanent seats on property. Traditional “bag chairs” are great around your campsite but a blanket or “beach” chair will work better for the ampitheater. Their is a flat area in front of the stage area that will be used for dancing and then the hill goes up at a significant enough of an angle that bag chairs are not ideal.

  • Can I get a free ticket for volunteering?

The non profit organization and the festival itself are both driven by volunteers. This year we are asking as many people as possible to engage and support our cause but right now we are not able to give away tickets. We will revisit this policy every year. Visit the “Get Involved” area of the website for more information on how you can help “sustain” the facilites, artists, musicians and fans that make the festival experience special.

  • Can I bring my Dog?

We did not allow dogs last year but in 2024 we plan to allow responsible owners to bring their festival friendly dogs. We require each owner to register their dog prior to arrival by using the link below. Please pick up after your dogs, if they are barking take them away from the music, keep them off of the golf greens and away from the Elk Pasture. We want to be able to have the dogs back every year but can only do this with your help.

Accommodations: Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I have my own campfire?

No personal campfires are allowed. The facility has multiple turf putting greens that could be damaged by embers. Multiple community fires will be available throughout the festival grounds.

  • Can I bring my dog?

We love dogs but unfortunately, no dogs are allowed. We can not risk the dogs upsetting the Elk on property so we ask that you leave your dog at home. If you have an approved service dog, please supply documentation to the festival director prior to arrival.

  • How do I book my hotel with the discounted rate??

We have not made the booking link and code public because the resort has informed us that bots and trolls will obtain the rate so they can get into the resort using our code. Please contact the festival director for this information. Kyle.Ochs at SustainFestivals.org

  • Can I have my car by my tent?

The primitive campsites require that you carry your gear to a spot of your choosing. If you need to have your car next to you for any reason, you must purchase an RV Camping Spot. Most of the primitive spots are along either side of the service roads allowing you to unload gear close to your site before parking in the designated areas.

  • Can I bring my golf cart?

Since this is our first festival, we are NOT allowing golf carts or any motorized transportation. The festival grounds is walkable and on site shuttle services can be arranged for fans that need a ride. We apologize for any inconvenience and plan to revisit this policy after year one.

  • Is there a shuttle to French Lick?

Currently we do NOT have a dedicated shuttle that runs from French Lick Resort to Elk Ridge Ranch. We are working with a local “on-demand” driver service to help some fans get back and forth but this would be based on availability. Contact us if you have this need.
