Full Spectrum Bluegrass proves that bluegrass music is for everyone.
Their recording and performances capture the joy, pain, and complexity of life through the genre of bluegrass.
Their debut EP Homesick (released November 2025) showcases the driving rhythm of classic artists like Earl Scruggs and JD Crowe, as only those who have spent years studying the genre can. Homesick goes further, however, with original songwriting that explores the modern queer, trans, and urban experience. Without losing sight of tradition, Full Spectrum invites many previously alienated by the “hillbilly” image of bluegrass to access the rhythm and virtuosity that makes this genre magic.
‘Full Spec’ finds fans in old school bluegrassers, deadheads, country fans, and everyone who enjoys a passionate live performance. Their live set is high-energy, funny, and dynamic, featuring a diverse mix of originals, bluegrass standards, and the occasional cover from unexpected sources.
Mandolinist and songwriter Colin ‘CC’ Cosgrove leads the band along with Emily Williams (fiddle), Amelia Mason (banjo, songwriting), Luke Vreeman (guitar) and Bea Riley (bass). Full Spectrum is based in Rogers Park, Chicago, IL.
